How do you increase the utility of a large barn intended for implement storage? You install a 100 kW solar system on the roof.
This 9300sq ft drive shed in Bailieboro was designed from the beginning as a dual purpose structure to store farm equipment and support a solar array on its roof. The optimized mono-slope roof design and the barn’s south-facing orientation maximize the amount of solar exposure. A 125kW solar array and 100kW SMA string inverter bank combine to produce a super-barn that does a lot more than just keep the equipment dry. The finished product is a multi-purpose building producing a long term income stream for its owners.
