There’s Money for Solar
Update: February 12, 2025: New incentives are available from the Province. Eligibility for solar and battery includes only a narrow range of system types, and this range may or may not address your clean energy objectives. The solar industry is advocating for a broadening of eligibility requirements, to permit more homeowners to achieve their clean energy objectives, and we recommend waiting for a few weeks to see what transpires. Nothing will happen while the provincial election is underway.
In summary, the Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program offers:
- $1000/kWdc of solar array, up to $5000
- $300/kWh of battery storage, up to $5000
This means to maximize the grant, you will need 5kW of solar and 17kWh of battery storage, and it must be configured as grid-zero.
