A tidy little system for a tidy little cabin.
Located at the end of a very long and bumpy road, this cottage was running a generator full time for electricity. Thoroughly covered in trees, the site at first seemed ill suited for solar. Building a crib off a nearby point provided a base for a pole mounted solar array that captures sunlight for most of the day.
Combine that array with a smart charge controller, a sealed battery bank, and simple 4kW inverter and now the generator is relegated to backup status, the fumes are gone, and the bird song is back.
